This was our big book this week

Room 20 have had a great start to Term 3. 

This term we are studying Fairy tales. This week we have been reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Tomorrow we will be making porridge following step by step instructions.

In week 4 all the children will be participating in the Junior Cross Country. We are practicing each day to build up our fitness for this event.

Towards the end of term we will be having our poem recitals. More information on this event will follow.

Our Visit to the Library

This term we are learning how to behave in the library. Each week we talk about how to use our browsing cards, which sections of the library we can use and whether books are fiction or non-fiction. We have been talking about our borrowed books to Mrs Barratt and sharing the things we liked with the class. We bring our library books back every Thursday and change them for a new one.

Week Five

Wow! Another great week in Room 20. We had our last table tennis session on Wednesday, thanks to Ebi, Rodney and Josh. You were great teachers! We had an interesting library session on Thursday. Mrs Barratt is teaching us lots of things. But best of all we are looking forward to Friday when we can buy a sausage or sushi and a slushy for lunch!

Week Four

We have been working on The Pinehill Way and have had a fun time creating some Puppetpals sketches.

Tomorrow

We are going to work on our Jolly Phonics tomorrow using an iPad app called Educreations. You might like to download this at home and work on it with your child.

We will also talk about the Pinehill Way and create a little movie using the Puppetpals app.

Hopefully we can upload one or two of these over the weekend!!

A visit from Beau

Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from Ryen's new puppy Beau.

We were able to stroke her and watch her do a couple of tricks. We might be able to publish some of our writing about her when we have finished.

We have had a great week in Room 20.
In our library session we talked about fiction and non fiction books. Today we read -  "What is it like to be a spider?" A great easy non fiction book about spiders and "What do parents do when you’re not there?" A fuuny book about the things parents get up to when their children are not there.

We had a fun table tennis session on Wednesday and continued with our basic skills.

 

 

Week Three

This week we have our music session on Monday afternoon. We have table tennis again on Wednesday morning and library on Thursday morning.

Here we are developing our hand-eye co-ordination. We had to bounce the ball in the first hoop and try to get it to bounce into the second hoop over the net. It was great fun!
